The Tasty Book Club pairs good books with good food. We read a variety of genres: silly books, smart books, memoirs, literary fiction and, yes, we even once read a book about werewolves. We pair the book with food or countries that appear in the book. If a book takes place in Greece, we eat Greek food. If we read a book that takes place in the American South, we go for BBQ. And so on. We aim for diversity among our book choices. Everyone is welcome to suggest books, but preference is given to b …

Let's get together to discuss, think, argue and explore what this change means for our most deeply felt beliefs. What is the value/purpose/meaning of a human life in a world where we're increasingly outdated? I anticipate this group being a discussion/reading/movie watching group. I've got some authors I'd like to explore (Ray Kurzweil, Thomas Carlson, John Modern among others) and movies I want …

Who says book clubs have to be held at boring old Starbucks? If you'd like to make a commitment to reading more AND you've been dying to try out some of the fabulous bars, restaurants and cute little coffee shops and tea rooms LA has to offer, this is the book club for you! I'm planning on alternating between American classics one month, to modern literature the next to keep a good balance. This book club IS a democracy though, so all suggestions are welcome and will be voted upon!
