Whether you're young or old, reading a play aloud together can be lots of fun and a great way to meet new characters. Our goal is to bring people of different backgrounds together to experience the fun, drama and the joy of reading a play. Whether you want to take on a big role or you want to listen along, you're welcome here! As we build we'll select a play and a location and get together once a month to take on the pages.
Welcome! This is a fun social co-ed book club for people of all ages (must be 18 years or older) who love reading. I used to read quite a bit when I was younger and in school but as I started working I found that my time was very limited and slowly stopped reading. I'd like to get back into reading at least one book a month. I would like to start this book club in the South Bay, specifically the San Jose area because this is where I live, so that as I read I can share my ideas and comments to ot …

I am starting this group because I love to read books! I love to read mostly everything that catches my eye. The purpose for this group is to meet new friends that have the same passion. Also would love to hear what others have to say about the book after they read it. Each month we will decide on a book to read and then after reading it we would come together to discuss it. Again if a month is too long, we can meet more. Out of kindness to others, please if you are joining the group make sure i …

Do you have a love for reading fun and romantic books? Do you aspire to find your' own Mr. Darcy? Do you hide your Nora Roberts book between the pages of another so know one will see you're reading a paperback novel?! Ah-Ha! Then this is the group for you! This is a very light-hearted group geared towards finding friends who share a love for romance books and other popular novels (i.e. The Help, A Discovery of Witches etc.) We will vote on a book every month and "meet-up" to discuss it as well a …
We originally formed out of an evening at Bookshop Santa Cruz for those interested in a book group. Bookshop Santa Cruz gives us 10% off our selection for mentioning "Ravenous Readers" at the cash register. We meet the first Thursday of every month to discuss our book selection from last time. We're open to new members who are willing to come to meetings, bring their ideas for our next book choice, and discuss the book we've read. Come and meet others who are just as fascinating as you!

Ever wished you were a member of one of those "book clubs" you see in the movies where we meetup and talk about books and share experiences and laugh and just have fun while building lasting friendships? Well that's what we want this book club to be! The goal is to build a core group of young women (generally 20-somethings) who are looking to build close friendships, have fun, and of course read books!! (Book genres could include chick-lit, young adult, historical fiction, self-help, bestsellers …
… This group is for anyone who would like to be seen reading a book other than The Girl who Kicked the Fire-dragon's Hornet Tattoo (not saying the Millennium series isn't great...I just think that book clubs have gone a little overboard with them) Also, anyone who has ever been disappointed with Ms. Winfrey's flavor of the month (damn you, Oprah, and your public-swaying ways!) is encouraged to join.

Immanuel Lutheran Church in Los Altos hosts this book discussion group for the South Bay community. All are welcome to join us in discussions about thought-provoking books. We usually take a month or two to read a book, and then meet to discuss it. (We know how busy you are, so if you don't finish the book, please join us for the discussion anyway.) We are looking forward to meeting you and hearing what you have to say!

I've been wanting to join a book club for a while, but as a full-time working mom with a 2 year old, it's been difficult to find the "right" book club. Many of the ones I have come across seem to be incredibly structured and inflexible (you MUST read the entire book) in a few short weeks, no NY bestsellers/no chic lit, etc… These are all the types of books I read! So, if you are looking for a book club that does have a heavy emphasis on CHIC LIT, easy/engaging fiction reads (i.e. books like The H …

Through those input and output devices, bayesian algorithms will network the statistical patterns of our thoughts together through the internet, so our thoughts will start to flow together and become more like 1 mind i …

… It's not that we don't enjoy contact with our members, but we prefer to spend time planning new events and reading books so we have something interesting to talk about when we do get together, than to spend a great deal of time answering individual questions which would be cleared up by a more careful or complete reading. 4. Willingness to do your own research if you need more information when organizers have said, "This is all we know about this event or this place but we want to try it out." …
This is a once a month non-fiction book club that covers all areas of science, natural history, and non-religious based philosophy and morality.
