Welcome to The Suffolk County Reading Room where we read and discuss one book each month. Do you like to read and curl up with a great book in one hand and a cup of tea or coffee in the other? Would you like to meet other Women in the area who share the same interest in reading as you? If you answered yes then this is the place for you. We are a group of Women in the Mt. Sinai, Port Jeff, Rocky Point, Coram, Sound Beach and surrounding areas who love to read. However ALL are welcome to join us. …
Once upon a last week, two recent graduates decided they wanted to read something other than romance novels for a change (or not...). So we're starting this group in hopes of finding other people with a passion for reading, and a willingness to embark upon a most ambitious quest: to read as many of the "top 100 novels" as we possible can. However we don't want to limit ourselves to just those - we hope to explore, examine, and be entertained by all different types of genres. There is no li …
We will read contemporary/classic fiction and non- fiction about once a month. The books we read should be appealing to both genders. This group will not read Sisters Traveling Pants, The Boyfriend Diaries or whatever they are called. Just about anything else is fair game. The monthly books are selected after the last meeting on an online poll. Book suggestions for the poll are allotted to those have attended prior meetings. We meet the last Wednesday of each month.
Are you interested in joining a book club but don't have time to read a whole book? Interested in meeting other 20s/30s? This informal reading and discussion group is for you! Tell us about anything you have read recently, on any topic, in any genre (blog post, a headline, a poem, magazine article, a recipe, a children's book etc.) and share some excerpts (about 5 mins) to discuss with the group!

Do you enjoy reading fiction? We read contemporary and classic fiction and get together monthly in New Haven to informally discuss a book. Group members suggest and vote on the next month's book after each meeting.

We are a new book club on LI looking for new male/female members in their 20’s and 30’s. We meet once a month on Sundays to discuss a book that we have electively chosen to read. We typically choose books that are best sellers and/or highly recommended for book clubs. The members that are a part of the group enjoy reading but also have busy lives and we understand if you are not able to make every meeting and/or finish the book in time. If the latter we always encourage you to come because most …
I decided to start this book club to create a group of like minded individuals that enjoy reading about interesting people. It should be interesting to hear different view points from the group about the focused people's personalities, the effect they had on others, and/or by what they contributed to their region, nation or to the world, whether it was a positive influence or controversial. Not that other books can't be chosen too, we seem to be drifting toward biographies.

There are many conservative authors out there and everyone that is a part of the group enjoys reading books about politics, or at least civics. Most books will be non-fiction although some relevant fiction may be picked. All are welcome who possess a genuine and keen interest in reading about and discussing politics and who want to be a part of a local book club.
All the book clubs I've seen have been for moms or people over 35. I'm 24 and I wanted to meet other book-lovers around my age in the area. Encompassing a wide variety of genres and authors from children's books to classics we'll aim to read a new book every three weeks or so. We'll meet to discuss the books in a relaxed informal environment. Even though we're a 35 and younger meetup group if you're an older person wanting to read more youthful books, I would be willing to make exceptions. Pleas …

We are born with genetic tendencies of succumbing to chronic, degenerative diseases that we inherit from our parents. We grow up being told that how our health goes as we age is mostly dictated by our genes. In my case, my father died from a heart attack at the age of 52. Heart attacks also claimed the lives of both of my grandfathers. It looks like the odds are against me. What if the foods we eat have more to do with the expression of our genetic tendencies than our genes? Over …
This has evolved into a dining/bookclub/social meeting. It's a great group of people and we have had some wonderful insights and discussions with the books we've read. Come and have some fun. Fiction or non-fiction, paperback or hardcover, you'll read a new book every month. Come to laugh, share stories and make new friends! We meet at different venues every month. So you're getting a "3 for" - it's a night out, dining, book club. Here's how it works. Come to a meeting whether you've read …
