I love to read, but hardly make the time to do it. So what better way to get motivated than to be part of a book club! Members enjoy all genres: fiction, chick-lit, non-fiction, young adult, and more. (Did you really have to wait for the movie to come out before reading Hunger Games??) Every month we will take turns choosing a book to read on our own, and MeetUp afterwards to discuss our likes, dislikes, meaning, and more.
Come join us in discussing great drama, film, literature and philosophy. Currently we have three branches to our group: our well-established Shakespeare group in which we read and discuss a new play each month; a new film lovers' group in which we'll discuss cinema as art and pop culture; and Modern Thought in which we will read and discuss modern literature and philosophy. Meetings will be tailored to meet the interests of members, who may follow any one or more of the current discussion gro …

I've been looking for a book club to join and I haven't found one that fits what I am looking for so I decided I might as well start my own. This is for anyone looking to get together once a month and discuss our monthly choice. We can do this over coffee, happy hour or a rotation of member's houses. I am open to suggestions on types of books as well.

If you're a former high school or college player, play at a NTRP level of 4.0 and above or so on a good day, and are looking for a weekly pickup tennis game ... then I've made this group for you. I'd love for this to become a regular consistent weekly event where former high school and college players can come out and be guaranteed to find a good match, singles or doubles. No country club fees, no hassle of trying to schedule in a match... just good fun competition with other players in KC. Plea …

… I would love to have a reading group to process our journey as unknown or unreported introverted professionals in a loud adult culture. I believe it will change my life, and no doubt this groupe could change yours. Only come if you are interested in learning about your introverted type and have taken the Myers-Briggs or Kiersey Inventory and have a reported score of "I". See you soon!
… If your still reading this you definitely need to attend. We sincerely hope to see you there. NEW CATEGORY FILM...INDEPENDENT...VERY INDEPENDENT....Tennis tends to be 6 months or less per year so, as an active film maker, I am going to keep the members up to date regarding the MoKan film scene, it is bigger than you think. I know it has not much to do with tennis but it should be of interest to many of our members and it makes better use of the meetup resources and broadens all of our world …

This is the place for women of all ages and skill levels to learn and share outdoor skills such as hiking, biking, kayaking, camping, map reading, horseback riding, etc. I would like to see married and single women-- and even mother's and grandmother's attend. This is a group for a study and discussion of all things "woman". We will be reading and discussing books about women, finding guest speakers to come to meetups and talk to us about different things, and I think movie nights would be great too where we can host small parties and discuss them. Even though this will be a pro-woman group, we welcome all genders and identities - male, female, transgendered, bi, gay, straight, everyone is welcome. Please Note: This is a group meant to uplift, empowe …

If you find yourself consumed by PC, RPG, board, or console gaming. If you find yourself debating, Star Trek or Star Wars. If you are reading this and can find several grammar errors, then this group is for you. We are all totally geek-ed about something and most of us geeks and gamers find ourselves never leaving the house, leaving us a little unsociable. This group is for the purpose of getting out of the house and meeting other people to socialize, game, and talk with about all those th …
Welcome to Christian Singles in KC - 30s and 40s! If you are thinking about joining this group, please be sure to read the entire description below. This group was started to bring Christian singles together who might not otherwise meet and to provide good Christian fellowship. I personally have been a member of several churches and have visited various others, and during that time I have discovered that this age group is largely ignored. There is often a singles group for the 18-29 age grou …
We started this group when the KC Objectivist group dissolved wishing to continue our twice monthly study of the philosophy of Ayn Rand. We frequently use Leonard Piekoff's "Objectivist Philosophy of Ayn Rand" as our study guide as well as other material from the Ayn Rand Institute. If you were moved by reading Ayn Rand's novels such as "Atlas Shrugged" or "Anthem" or any of her works of non-fiction and want to discuss her philosophy with others of a like mind then please join us. Starting Octob …
Meet others interested in Tarot, Oracles and other Divination. Each meeting will include a discussion on a different topic each month, fun with different deck themes, and of course reading exchanges. Each month will bring something new and fun... make your own oracle, create different spreads, story telling and much more. We are interested in Oracle decks just as much as Tarot so we hope to have something of interest for everyone. Meeting times vary, but generally are Saturday's at Crescent Spri …
