… This could take many forms--from creative prompt sessions and reading events to lively pint night discussions and creative debates. Rather than being a place to make publishing or career connections, this group is designed to help you make connections with others who have a desire or passion for reading and writing. Let's be friends. After moving to the Triangle area a year ago, I've found that it can sometimes be difficult to meet others with similar interests, especially for writers who are of …

In conjunction with each performance of the Deep Dish Theater Company, a book is selected that relates to the theme of the play. A conversation about the book is scheduled and the public is invited. It is not necessary to have seen the play to participate; many choose to watch the play after the book discussion. The discussion is free and no prior registration is required.

… I think we all agree that one of the benefits of a book group like ours is reading good, discussible books that we might not ordinarily read if left to our own devices. For example, I personally LOVE mysteries and detective stories, but they are usually not good food for discussion. So we read mostly literary fiction and memoirs. There is a Reading List in our Files section where you can see everything the group has read so far along with a few of our future possibilities.
Once upon a morning bright and cheery, while I pondered dark and dreary
Over my latest curious volume that is surely going to soar,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a rapping,
As my fingers started tapping, tapping creating words galore..
`'Tis finally my muse,' I muttered, `tapping out words galore-
Only this, and nothing more.'

We believe leafleting is among the most effective outreach activities, and since it’s so easy that is our focus. We also do vegan food sampling at festivals and supermarkets and tabling at different events. Our outreach style is modeled on Vegan Outreach and Mercy for Animals. Please take a look at tho …
