And yeah, occasionally it's fun to talk about the themes and tone and antagonist, but sometimes it's just fun to talk about which actor would play which character in the movie. …

We all have a lot to do and focus on, so why not have a group of ladies who enjoy chick lit books and being social, where it is just an escape! We can meet up, enjoy some fun books, some wine and food and just have a good time! We are low on structure, high on fun. We enjoy light books, and and fun conversation! We alternate among "official" chick lit (but not too fluffy so we have something to talk about!) and more "serious" books. We meet once a month to discuss, talk, have cocktails and ma …

Good books, good food, good conversations! We're a small group of readers that likes to explore new things. Each month we choose a book and a restaurant to try, and we like to keep it diverse. Recent reads include The Etched City, Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail, The Portrait of Dorian Gray, and Anna Dressed in Blood. Our topics range wildly, sometimes related to the book, sometimes not. Think we're a good fit? Give us a try.

This group is for anyone who loves happily ever afters (with a whole lot of struggle). The books that warm our hearts and burn our panties. This group is to know there are more authors than the ones on the New York Times best sellers listing. Me personally, I'm tired of not having friends that read. I'd like to meet people who read what I do and are willing to share their thoughs and offer suggestions to new authors, fictional boyfriends and all around great love story.

Love to read? Love to spend time in a book store? Are books practically a line item in the family budget? If your answer is "yes," come meet your people. Two years ago, we began with three readers as the McKinney Fiction Book Club with our first book - Cutting for Stone, a novel by Abraham Verghese. We loved it with a great and fiery passion and have been on a quest to find contemporary literature just as good ever since. Along the way we started a Classics series. Then we added some book-and …

This Meetup was created for African American women who enjoy literature and cinema. What makes this Book Club different from many others is that we will not only read books, but we will watch the movie during our monthly meetups and discuss and compare the book and the film. We will not read African American books only, but the group was designed for African American women as a means to grow and support a sisterhood amongst members. We will read a few "throwbacks" as well as more current books. …

I wanted to start this circle because I realized that there really wasn't anywhere to go to expand on my psychic reading (clairvoyant) abilities. I was "stuck" because I could not find a place that was truly just for practicing psychic/mediumship readings. I want to provide a safe place without judgement for those with intermediate skills. We will expand on our abilities and gain more confidence. The circle will also be open to more experienced readers who want to practice.
